AMIRA announces new Regional Manager for Latin America Dr Juan Daniel Silva has been appointed Regional Manager, Latin America, for AMIRA International. Dr Silva, 42, has wide experience in technology development in both academic and industry environments. A graduate in mine engineering from the University of Chile, he undertook post graduate studies in Paris, culminating with a PhD in geological engineering from the Mining School of Paris... Appointments strengthen AMIRA’s team in the Americas
The appointment of Juan Daniel Silva follows the appointment of a Canadian-based Research Director announced in April and is part of a strategy to provide increasing support for AMIRA members in the Americas. Alicia Blancarte is based in Vancouver but will work with Terry Braden, AMIRA’s Regional Manager North America who is based in Denver.Dr Blancarte has a strong hydrometallurgy and environmental background and being fluent in Spanish is able to provide support in these fields in both North America and Latin America.
