This is a question we get a lot! To find out the size of Lake Nagambie, we decided to measure it and found it’s 103km long. That’s 103 kilometers or 64 miles long! Pretty big right? But don’t worry, there’s also other nearby lakes and rivers like Lake Hume that you can explore while you’re in the area.
There are signs that point the way to lakes around the area. The Karoonda Lake Visitor Centre (123 Bilma Road, Nangiloc), which is also a great place to get information about the area, also has a topographical map of Lake Nagambie and surrounding areas so you don’t need to worry about getting lost.
Lake Nagambie is a good place to explore because it’s the type of lake you can get close to, swim in and enjoy. It’s also a relatively safe place to visit.
